Bucket Shake at The Millgate Centre
We all enjoyed a fund raising bucket shake at The Millgate Centre in Bury on Saturday June 30th. A big thank you to Lisa Smith for this.
Boys and girls performed and demonstrated on the day. We also had plenty of adult volunteers - thanks to all who came.
The day ran from 9am to 5pm. Recreational gymnasts and their parents also came along and helped to collect.
IT WAS AN ENORMOUS OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO RAISE BOTH CASH AND THE PROFILE OF THE CLUB. WE DID BOTH THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME.
The total amount of money collected at Millgate has been counted:
PEEL TOWER ABSEIL
23rd JUNE Thank you to everyone who came to support this event.
The stalls which were up there were manned admirably by gymnasts and parents alike. Thanks to the people who helped wrap sweets, bring up hot water for drinks ………etc…… You were brilliant. To everyone who helped back stage and on the day itself – BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT!
The whole day stayed dry but the wind played its part.
To all Abseilers who valiantly went over the top – BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT!
A massive thank you to the organisers from Burrs Activity Centre, without your help this would never ever have happened.
When you have collected your sponsor money in could you please give the sponsor money and the form to the coaches. Please ask the coach to pass the money onto Cath Thorley, Alison Bowden, Davina Clarke, Sally Horsfall or Paul Reid. These people will keep a running total of what is collected and bank the proceeds into the BMOGC bank account.
Once again, well done to everyone who was involved in making the abseiling event a success.
PEEL TOWER ABSEIL - 23rd JUNE
PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT THE EVENT IF YOU CAN. 11th June 2007
THERE WILL BE A NUMBER OF STALLS UP THERE TO HELP PASS THE TIME.
BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS.
THE DAY STARTS AT AROUND 10.30 AND CONCLUDES JUST AFTER 4 PM
Abseilers bring as any supporters as you can.
Anyone booked to abseil should assume that the abseiling event will go on regardless of the weather. The organisers from Burrs Activity Centre will make the final decision if the event needs to be cancelled. Cath Thorley and Alison Bowden or Paul Reid will contact you if it is cancelled due to bad weather on the day. So please turn up unless you have been told otherwise - we have your contact number on your consent form if it's required.
Please check on the time slot time sheet when you are due to abseil (see separate page for time allocation). In the interest of keeping things running smoothly on the day please come 10 or 15 mins earlier than the time allocated to you to abseil. Also be prepared for things to run slightly over time.
When you have collected your sponsorship money please give your money to Alison Bowden, Cath Thorley, Davina Clarke, Paul Reid, Sally Horsfall or indeed any coach
We will be selling cakes, snacks, drinks etc....... up on the top of the hill. There will also be a guess the teddy bear name competition - tickets available at the top of the hill.
There is a car park at the bottom of the Holcombe Hill, half way up Lumb Carr Road (on the left). The top of the hill is about a 20 minute walk from the car park.
